Whatever happened to the Liberals for Truth?

Filed under: Politics — site admin @ 8:49 am

Some of you may remember back in November I started a site titled Liberals for Truth. The idea was to counter the right wing attacks, provide a forum, an outlet for individuals who consider themselves to be liberal without the attacking nature of some sites on the internet.
I felt like there was a need to build a community that rebalances the the truth versus what we continue to hear whether spoken or implied from the far Republican right. A few people jumped in right at the beginning. I grabbed a domain name, started hosting the site on an older computer (the predecessor to this one) set up a bulletin board, mailing list, blog and the main page… and then, and then… Then there were domain problems which included the ISP having routing “problems” where some days you could only access the site from the same network and others you could only access from the outside world. Due to disagreements with the other “leader” I decided the best thing was for me to bow out and let him have the domain and control.
Sadly the site is in disrepair like an abandonded building. The main designer/writer seems to have given up or at least not updated the site in a while. The blog and bulletin board seem to be gone. The mailing list – which hasn’t seen some traffic in a while is still up, but it’s on a different host than the main site. I have been considering putting the old info back online and bringing the community back together. Some things are just worth the time.
