Speaking of Stepping on your House Member

Weiner’s story doesn’t seem to be getting any better. First he said somebody hacked his account. Rachel Maddow backed him 1000 % on her show following the early denials. Although everything Rachel and her viewers said could be done technologically speaking, she was wrong. The problem is that the news came from right wing sniper Andrew Breitbart whose 30 seconds of edited video took down Shirley Sherrod by misquoting her and framing her and Obama as racists. So it’s easy to dismiss the claims of a hack like Breitbart. This time, though it seems as if the target was not falsely maligned. Andrew Weiner has admitted to what he called “inappropriate” conversations with women outside his marriage.

Now, this should be between Weiner and his wife. But it’s not because he’s a political figure. And because he apparently sent explicit photos to at least some women. I’m not going to feign outrage at actions that his wife will be the final judge on. But just yesterday a 17 year old girl was questioned by police to determine if there was anything inappropriate between herself and Weiner. This is where he will begin his downfall, if it happens. Flirting (not actually doing anything) happens online and offline between adults all the time, whether married or not. Some people consider that cheating, others not so much. When the age boundary is broken, though, the rules change.

I’m sure the investigations will continue. It’s obvious that many people were lied to at the outset. The bottom line will be did he break house ethics rules or did he commit any actual crime. And whether he did or not, he has to answer to his wife.

of the Midnight ride of Paul Revere.
He road up the coast with his NRA lifetime membership card in his pocket, with Charelton Heston in his sidecar, shouting “the only way you will get my gun is by prying it from my cold dead hand you dirty ape!”

That Gotcha media! Don’t they know the NRA membership is secret just like KKK membership? Of course he told the British, hiding in the trees that they weren’t gonna get our guns, just like that Muslim Obama wants to do! This is what they call stepping on your dick.

Russell Pearce doesn’t want those lazy people receiving unemployment benefits to think they don’t have to look for work. I mean, $240.00/ week should be good enough for anybody. I would be lazy and stay home for that, living off the sweet nectar from that government teat. Except that’s like $6.00/hr if you count it out at 40 hours per week. Regardless of how much you made before unemployment.

As much as I dislike the woman, Brewer is doing the right thing by calling a special session in order to extend unemployment benefits. Her party cohorts, would rather build fences and alienate Mexicans and have not extended the measly $240/wk that might keep people from committing hari kari because they can’t feed their families. What do you think about the repulsion of unemployment extension?

What?

The link off Yahoo’s finance page asks us to ponder the question, “Are Republicans Intentionally Sabotaging The Economy for Political Gain?”

I say no. John Boehner has sponsored bill after bill to get Americans (and by Americans, I mean North Americans living between Canada and Mexico, and a few in Alaska and a few in that island state) back to work. He has sponsored bill after bill to support those poor schmucks stuck out of work for over two years. What’s that? He hasn’t? He’s sponsored bills that give the rich continued handouts instead of getting people back to work? He’s supporting the giant oil company tax breaks even while they rape us at the pump? He’s more worried about gays in the military than the military?

Hmm.. maybe they are all about their own self interests, getting re-elected, and defeating Obama. Maybe.
