REPUBLICAN CANON OF BELIEF

. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush’s daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a “we can’t find Bin Laden” diversion.

Voting machines appear to have been tampered with in Palm Beach

Filed under: Politics — site admin @ 5:28 am

According to a recent posting on blackboxvoting.org, there is now evidence, in the form of logs from the voting machines that something wasn’t quite right on voting day. Beverly Harris, who has been doggedly pursuing the irregularities writes,

“The internal logs of at least 40 Sequoia touch-screen voting machines reveal that votes were time and date-stamped as cast two weeks before the election, sometimes in the middle of the night.”

Additionally, many of these machines have no votes recorded on election day even while tests show the dates are accurate on the machines. If this is true, this starts to look like evidence that the election was tampered with in Florida.

The Husband Store

Filed under: It's funny — site admin @ 12:46 pm

Now for a little comic relief:

A store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City, where
a
woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance
is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value
of
the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights.

The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose
to
go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the
building.

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first
floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.

The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love
Kids.

The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids,
and are Extremely Good Looking.

“Wow,” she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have
Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework.

“Oh, mercy me!” she exclaims, “I can hardly stand it!” Still, she goes
to the fifth floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love
Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong
Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the Sign
reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor.
There are no men on this floor.
This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to
please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

To avoid gender bias charges, the store’s owner opens a New Wives store
just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.

The third through sixth floors have never been visited

I had a really tough time deciding what to call this post. I mean the concept that all or nearly all abortion would become illegal anywhere in the US is hard to imagine, but it is in South Dakota. A bill just passed by the state legislature is slated for the Republican Governor’s signature. This bill would make performing and having one performed on you, punishable by five years in prison according to CNN. It does not take the health of the mother, rape or incest into account. Did daddy sneak into bed with you to show you how much he loves you? Keep the baby. Did you get raped by your boss when you were cleaning the grease trap after working your 12 hour shift just to pay your rent? Keep the baby. No we mean it, you keep it our you go to jail where you become the slave to Madge, don’t worry she won’t get you pregnant.
This really boils down to a “class” issue. Women who can afford it (and daughters of families that can afford it) will do what they have always done; go on “vacation” and have a “miscarriage”. Lower income women who cannot afford to travel out of state will become more of a burden on the welfare system - if they can’t afford the $1000 or so to travel, have an abortion, and miss work what makes anyone think they can afford to raise children? And for women victimized by a rapist or an incestuous family member are they going to collect child support from a convicted rapist? Fat chance collecting while the thug is in jail.
Instead the state wants women to practice abstinence - don’t get raped OK? Because we all know that women who are raped are “asking for it” and wanted to have unprotected sex with a junkie.
This bill goes way too far - South Dakota only has one abortion clinic in the entire state. Now they want to make it illegal to have even that one… well unless the mother’s life is in danger. Of course if she is only deathly ill, but expected to survive then it’s illegal. This cannot be allowed to pass and stand in South Dakota nor anywhere else. As a man, I truly believe that I cannot tell a woman what to do with her body - especially when it comes to carrying a child to term. Women are allowed to vote and are no longer considered property - let’s treat them like they can think for themselves, counsel and console them as needed and support them in their decisions - and make damned sure the decision to terminate a pregnancy (or not) is legal.

Note: I used the term baby throughout. Without getting into a debate about when life “begins” I would like to point out that fetus is a more correct term for certain aged clumps of cells. I also believe that if it can’t breath on its own it’s hard to say it’s alive.

Bush to the GOP, “Blow Me”

Filed under: Politics — site admin @ 1:05 pm

While it might not be on par with American Airlines hiring Osama bin Ladin for their cross country flights, many, many many people are appalled at the plan to turn over security of ports in the United States to a company owned by Saudi Arabia.

When members of his own party - Bill Frist, Gov Pataki and others question the security and validity of this plan Dubya does the equivilant of whipping it out and telling them to “suck it”. He claims that a thourough review has taken place. To that I have one question, “If you couldn’t find WMD in Iraq that you knew were there how are you going to find connections that you don’t know are there in this company?” I mean this isn’t like Barney digging for grubs on the ranch “Mr President” this is about protecting the country from those things you keep telling us to be afraid of, dirty bombs and things that can be fought off with plastic sheeting and duct tape.
Maybe now even his own party will see that he is suffering from mad cow and should be impeached for his failure to protect the US from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Otherwise, it might be time to impeach Congress for the same damned thing!

Rumor has it

Filed under: General, Politics — site admin @ 6:33 pm

There is a rumor that I have been unwilling to spread for fear that it would not materialize and I would look somewhat foolish. But this is the internet where (most) anything goes right? So here it is. The rumor is that in the works, behind the scenes of the Transportation Department here in Flagstaff, is a switch to bio diesel. No more dependence upon dead dinosaurs, but rather on the disposed fryer grease from McDonald’s. Of course with as many busses as we have running here we might have to get it from Burger King too (even if they do have that creepy King running for touch downs in his tights, but I digress). The cost of the fuel is purportedly around $0.46/gal which I think might be a typo since I saw that Deer Valley is paying around $0.64/gal. Still to save over $2.00/gal on fuel, using what was previously a waste product and to smell like french fries* to boot is pretty awesome.

*That’s right - wrote french fries, not “freedom” fries. Don’t forget the French helped us win independence from that first “George”. Crap, now I have to put this under “politics” too ;)

I wonder if they are trying to get attention?

The Aristocrats

Filed under: On video, Reviews — site admin @ 11:32 am

The first thing I want to write about this movie is that it’s UR - UnRated… meaning the kids, your mother-in-law and the family pets should all leave the room when it’s playing. There isn’t an appropriate rating for this movie…. NC-17 is “almost right”

In the beginning of the film the typical ratings screen comes up. It explains that the film is unrated… and in the slightly smaller print that normally indicates why a film has a particular rating (Some simulated sex acts/Excessive Language) are the words “Protected by the First Amendment”. Fabulous!

I gotta update my yahoo profile

Filed under: Geek News and Stuff — site admin @ 11:00 am

My profile on Yahoo is a little old. I mean it says I’m 29…. not only that it has me as divorced. Hmm…. I guess a little updating is in order. See I don’t really keep other web sites up to date about myself, just this one, and the FreeRealty site. Unfortunately that seems to have brought out some trollers. From time to time I get strange popups from people I don’t know on the Yahoo Messenger service. I have had two maybe three simple messages from the same person in the last few months. I had never responded until today, normally I just click the little x that closes the window. Today I responded to bats4beck1 and I’m kinda starting to wonder why I did. Here’s a snip:

(10:36:52) bats4beck1: ;;)
(10:37:02) imagine12: What?
(10:37:45) bats4beck1: Hey looser! ;)
(10:38:27) imagine12: looser? Do you mean “loser”?
(10:41:27) bats4beck1: its looser; if thats a reflection of your education, you’re not impressing me!
(10:41:49) bats4beck1: maybe you should try again and work on your GED
(10:42:44) imagine12: I suppose that depends on what you’re trying to say.
(10:42:46) bats4beck1: I’m sure there are accomodations at your trailer park
(10:43:20) bats4beck1: there are no contexts in the English grammer that uses loser!
(10:44:08) bats4beck1: the welfare system provides remedial literature courses
(10:45:46) bats4beck1: are you Mexican?
(10:46:11) bats4beck1: or some other illiterate minority?
(10:46:29) imagine12: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=looser

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=loser
(10:49:34) bats4beck1: :)

There… my profile is all updated. Maybe now I can just use the internet :)
