The Aristocrats
The first thing I want to write about this movie is that it’s UR - UnRated… meaning the kids, your mother-in-law and the family pets should all leave the room when it’s playing. There isn’t an appropriate rating for this movie…. NC-17 is “almost right”
In the beginning of the film the typical ratings screen comes up. It explains that the film is unrated… and in the slightly smaller print that normally indicates why a film has a particular rating (Some simulated sex acts/Excessive Language) are the words “Protected by the First Amendment”. Fabulous!
Produced in part by Penn (of Penn and Teller fame) the movie is billed as “One hundred superstar comedians tell the same very, VERY dirty, filthy joke–one shared privately by comics since Vaudeville.” That’s an understatement. I think my plants were blushing. This joke is so filthy, so utterly disgusting that if you aren’t totally revulsed you will be stuck to the screen, unable to turn away. Each new comedian that is brought up takes this joke, makes it revoltingly theirs and tries to top the previous comedian in the telling.
I can’t - won’t - ruin the joke for the readers. If you are sensitive or delicate in any way go f***ing rent something else. This is not for the faint of heart by any stretch of the imagination. Extras and special features on the DVD include extra tellings of the joke, comedians other favorite jokes, and a telling of the joke by Ron Jeremy - some of you won’t need an introduction
