Politically Incorrect
It’s time to comment on a few things that have been happening in and around Flagstaff lately.
First the Arizona Snowbowl lost a court battle - they can go higher and will most undoubtedly try - to make snow. They want to make snow to keep the mountain open and make skiing available and reliable. The thing is the mountain is “sacred” to many tribes in the area. *sigh* I’m going to let this rest for a day or so before I tell you that I don’t think the decision is a good one.
A billboard recently has been taken down/covered up. The billboard was for Empire properties (I think) and it stated,
All neighbor.
No Hood.
I thought it was pretty funny; a decent play on words. At least three people didn’t like it. The one who spray painted “racist” on the sign. And two white people that they interviewed for the news thought that it was racist in nature and exclusionary.
Here’s where we differ apparently. White people can’t decide what’s racist towards non-whites. They are fooling themselves. And I say that as a European decendant
Now. Let’s get more (in)correct. I never owned slaves. My ancestors never owned slaves that I know of, and even if they did I certainly don’t owe anyone anything.
We’re even. (There is still a need for some kinds of affirmative action, but if we could stop looking at color and backgrounds we wouldn’t need it anymore.)
Now, in a reference back to the other posting… my coworker told me that her friend once told her that I was pretty cute - for a white guy. ![]()
